Food fest to raise money for people seeking refuge

I’m making a difference by fundraising for the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC).

I’m doing this by hosting a Feast for Freedom to provide people seeking asylum with access to the essential services they need to rebuild their lives in Australia.

This is a meal that makes a difference, and I’m inspired by the special recipes gifted by refugees that are taken from their own cultural traditions. Every dollar I raise will go to the ASRC so they can provide essential food, housing and health services to refugees and people seeking asylum.

Middle Eastern Feast by Freya Cheffers

Sunday 12th Apr
City of Fremantle 2026 Citizen of the Year Freya Cheffers is an extraordinary Chef and Caterer who specialises in Middle-Eastern and Moroccan cuisines. She has perused the ASRC recipe book put together by refugee chefs and is inspired! Freya generously offers a full size Grazing Table for 30 guests for the event on 18 April 2026.

Grazing Table Menu:
Cheese platter
Hummus and Turkish bread 
2 x salads (1 roasted veg, 1 raw veg on mixed green) 
Couscous, Rice with quinoa 
2 hot wet dishes from ASRC's beautiful book - 1 veg/vegan and 1 meat dish 
Desert: orange syrup cake (with almond flour)

GF/Vegan/Vegetarian options included

You’re invited to dinner on Sat 18 April 6-9pm

Friday 20th Feb
We’ll be hosting a sit-down dinner at our place in Beaconsfield. Expect world food cuisine. We’re asking for a minimum of a $50 donation per person attending. 
Poets and musicians willing to perform on the night, please send us an EOI. 
We’ll also call for volunteers and raffle donations.
