Join Hannah and Venetia's Feast for Freedom
Hello lovely humans!
Hannah and I are raising much needed funds for the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC), an incredible organisation providing people seeking asylum with access to the essential services they need to rebuild their lives in Australia.
For 25 years ASRC has been doing incredible work in the community including providing Community Meals, a Food Bank, Support Services, Healthcare, Legal Aid and Detention Advocacy, Education & Training, Employment Pathways and more. Vital work that's not being done by the Australian Government.
It's our hope that by hosting this Feast for Freedom meal we can make a small difference, and bring together many of our all-time favourite humans around a table.
We'll be cooking special recipes gifted by refugees that are taken from their own cultural traditions, as well as some of our own favourites from those that have made Australia their home.
Please make a donation as you're able and help us reach our goal. Every dollar we raise will go to the ASRC.

Monday 20th AprTHANK YOU to all of you who have generously supported me to and supported this event. Together we raised $669 for ASRC. I'm very proud of what we achieved!
It was a special evening for me, and to sit and share with all of you, over some delicious recipes and wonderful conversations, both funny and at times more sombre.
Each of you contributed beyond your attendance in a myriad of ways, and the event was very much the work of a many hands and hearts. In particular a shout out to my hosting partner Hannah who heart, mind, time and recipes and who, along with her lovely boyfriend Ian (aka Professor of Interior Design) came a few hours early to help set up everything, and the wine! Thank you to Dad for contributing trips, groceries and wine, to Binu for the beautiful Poha and fragrant curry leaves, to Aneesh for lending us chairs and to Theertha, Sibi and Kunyapi for coming so very far to join and for purchasing cookies, and for Kunyapi's tireless assistance as my serving assistant!
Thank you to Rita, Jeremy and Pam who were unable to join yet made very generous donations. I'll incredibly grateful to each of you.
