Our annual fundraising drive for refugees and asylum seekers continues in Week 7 this term. On Friday 13 March, we will be offering a 'Feast for Freedom' - a range of delicious home-made dishes, prepared with love by fellow teachers. There will be a range of vego and vegan dishes, inspired by what is seasonal, and affordable, as well as recipes provided by refugees in the ASRC booklet.

We are asking for $15 per person. You can pay cash on the day, or RSVP / pay via the link below and you can pay for it as a tax-deductible donation.

The greater goal of this fundraising is to support the work of the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) which is national advocate for refugees and asylum seekers, based in Melbourne. But the 'Feast for Freedom' also serves another purpose - it gives us an opportunity to gather and eat together.

The feast will be set-up from 8.30am on 13/3, and food should be warm and ready to eat during both lunch breaks. We will have some take-away containers available, or you are welcome to bring your own, if you want to serve yourself up a feast to save for later.

WHAT IS FEAST FOR FREEDOM?

We have been participating in this fundraising cause for several years now. It is a simple but effective model - some of us cook yummy food (often following recipes provided by refugees & asylum seekers) and some of us don't have to make lunch, we can relax to enjoy the food with our workmates and make a donation. Together we have raised over $5000 in the last 5 years, which has gone directly to ASRC. This organization provides valuable support to refugees and asylum seekers.
