Bryn's Feast for Freedom Story
In a time when compassion can sometimes feel like a rare commodity, I am beyond excited to be hosting a (very early!) birthday gathering where we'll be fundraising for the amazing team at the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC).
I would love you to join me!
I’ll be hosting a Feast for Freedom / birthday celebration where everyone is invited to donate what you feel able to. As a guide, this could be the amount you would normally spend on a meal at a restaurant, on a birthday gift, or whatever your heart calls you to donate in support of the inspiring work that the ASRC do!
Together, our donations will provide people seeking asylum with access to the essential services they need to rebuild their lives in Australia. Every dollar we raise will go to the ASRC so they can provide essential food, housing, health services, legal assistance, community support, and more to refugees and people seeking asylum.
Whether you're able to join us in-person or in spirit, I invite you to join us in celebrating and expressing gratitude for family, friends, and the freedoms we have been blessed with.
The ASRC have provided an amazing range of delicious recipes gifted by refugees who have generously shared the dishes and traditions they carry with them. This year's focus will be on dishes from Palestine and Sri Lanka, among others - wish me luck as I try my hand at cooking them!
