Story

I’m making a difference fundraising for the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC).

I’m doing this by hosting a Feast for Freedom to provide people seeking asylum with access to the essential services they need to rebuild their lives in Australia.

This is a meal that makes a difference and I’m inspired by the special recipes gifted by refugees that are taken from their own cultural traditions. Every dollar I raise will go to the ASRC so they can provide essential food, housing and health services to refugees and people seeking asylum.

Please make a donation to help me reach this goal.

Thank you.

Asylum Seekers Matter - sending invitations soon

Friday 21st Mar
It's been a bit tricky trying to find dates to send invitations for a Feast as there's a lot happening around our town and in our lives, but we're getting there. I'll be sending email invitations or phone messages to those of you who are not too far away to come for a meal. There will be two dates either side of Easter - 12 and 26 April - also avoiding ANZAC day. Get ready! Come! Help me raise (or exceed) my goal for this important purpose.

Asylum Seekers Matter

Tuesday 4th Mar
This is the first time that I have participated in this feast, and the first time I have ever tried to participate in a fundraising post on line! Why am I doing this? I have been a supporter for refugees and asylum seekers for a vwry long time, because I can only imagine how frightening it would be to try to live in a war torn country or under a brutal regime. I sincerely hope we will never experience that, but am increasingly aware that the many people are becoming increasingly confused about what really matters. I want to foster compassion, love and hope, tinged with joy and peace in our country and world!
