Join me for a Levantine-inspired feast in beautiful Bundeena, on Dharawal Country in the Royal National Park.

I’m hosting this lunch as part of Feast for Freedom to raise money for the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC), helping people seeking asylum access the essential services they need to rebuild their lives in Australia.

At a time of ongoing violence and displacement, I wanted to create a gathering centred around solidarity, generosity, and shared food.

If you’d like to make a day of it, there will be an optional walk with my dad at 1 pm to see the Indigenous engravings in the national park before lunch. Otherwise, food will be served from 3 pm.

If you’re coming by public transport, the easiest route is the T4 to Cronulla, followed by the ferry to Bundeena. The ferry leaves hourly — aim for the 12:30 pm ferry if you’d like to join the walk, or the 2:30 pm ferry if you’re coming for lunch.

The menu will be halal, with lots of vegetarian and vegan options, and you’re very welcome to list any dietary requirements in the RSVP section. A quiet space for prayer will also be available.

All proceeds from the event will go directly to the ASRC, supporting essential food, housing, healthcare, legal and other services for refugees and people seeking asylum. If you can’t attend but would still like to contribute, there is also a donation option below. Donations of $2 or more are tax-deductible.
