Kate's Feast for Freedom

What is this feast all about?

This year, I’m hosting a Feast for Freedom — a shared meal with friends, family, and community to support people seeking asylum as they rebuild their lives here in Australia.

I’ve hosted these Feasts before - the photo is of an excited Luka helping prepare for our 2019 feast! It’s such a meaningful way to connect over yummy food and make a real difference. I’ll be cooking dishes from special recipes gifted by people who’ve generously shared recipes from their cultures and personal stories.

It’s more than just a meal — it’s a way to honour resilience, celebrate connection, and raise much-needed funds for the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC). 

Every dollar raised goes directly to the ASRC, helping provide essentials like food, housing, and healthcare for refugees and people seeking asylum.
