Feast for Freedom coming up this weekend!

Event details:
Sunday 3rd May
5 pm
140-146 Maroondah hwy Healesville
I’m hosting a Feast for Freedom fundraiser for the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) to provide people seeking asylum with access to the essential services they need to rebuild their lives in Australia.
This is a meal that makes a difference, inspired by the special recipes gifted by refugees that are taken from their own cultural traditions.
Steve Curry has generously offered his amazing house to host this feast, and we plan to highlight the cuisine of the Middle East where so many people are now suffering unimaginable hardship. Every dollar we raise as profit will go to the ASRC so they can provide essential food, housing and health services to refugees and people seeking asylum.
There is a maximum of 30 people as guests for this special meal and it is now booked out. However if you wish to go on the waiting list let me know.
A donation is requested to ASRC to attend.
If you can't make the feast perhaps consider a donation to the ASRC anyway.
Thank you
Karen Meuleman

Cooking cooking cooking. Cleaning cleaning cleaning
Saturday 2nd May I have been cooking up a storm, and Steve has been busy cleaning and shifting furniture. The menu changes regularly as I get inspiration. This event is not just about the food, but about gathering together to help others, and also to enjoy each others company. With a limited number of people I can cater for, I know some people missed out, but there’s always next year! Share
I know it’s not all about the food!
Thursday 30th Apr I must admit I enjoy cooking and find it a really creative process. Some people think this is weird. So while Steve is busily getting his house in order and sorting out crockery, tables, chairs etc, I’ve been progressively cooking up our feast. Some dishes benefit from resting in the fridge for a couple of days to enhance their flavours others have to be prepared fresh on the day.

Feast for Freedom Menu Sample
Monday 30th Mar I'm having fun planning the menu for our Feast for Freedom. I want it to have a middle eastern influence to reflect the countries which are suffering so greatly at the moment. It also has to be a menu that will cater for most people, thus will be mostly vegetarian, and also using produce from my home garden as well as what is in season.Thank you to my Donors
