Story

I’m hosting a dinner to fundraise for the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) on the 13th of April 2025 and I hope you can join me!

The Feast for Freedom is a cause I hold dear to my heart. My first encounter with asylum seekers was during my travels in Colombia when I met Africans who were fleeing to the US with the help of people smugglers. Hearing their stories of war and persecution changed me, and I vowed to do something about it when I came home. I returned to Australia and began volunteering at the ASRC, an incredible organisation that helps those seeking asylum in Melbourne. 

Although I no longer volunteer at the ASRC, I continue to support their mission, and this year, I am hosting a Feast for Freedom dinner.

The money raised from this feast will provide people seeking asylum with access to the essential services they need to rebuild their lives in Australia.

This is a meal that makes a difference and I’m inspired by the special recipes gifted by refugees that are taken from their own cultural traditions. Every dollar I raise will go to the ASRC so they can provide essential food, housing and health services to refugees and people seeking asylum.
