Story
This year I am participating in the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) ‘Feast For Freedom’. As you may know the ASRC is a my favourite charity and supports refugees in very practical ways- including providing legal assistance, operating a food bank and cooking meals, healthcare, and educational and training programs.
There is a huge gap in basic needs assistance for those seeking asylum in Australia and workers and volunteers from ASRC do an amazing job providing support with dignity ‘on the ground’ from Footscray and Dandenong.
I am hosting a dinner party on Sunday, 13 April to raise money for the ASRC and you are all invited! A suggested donation of $35 per head (approx the same as a night at Walrus) would be much appreciated. I can’t promise you the best fried rice and crispy chicken in Melbourne but I can promise that you will be helping out an amazing cause.
Please let me know if you can make it! If you can’t, you can still make a donation on my fundraising page. My goal is to raise $750, which would provide 350 warm meals for asylum seekers.
