The Constant Gardeners

We support refugees in Canberra on an ongoing basis with fresh produce and funds from annual fundraising and want to make a further contribution by helping the ASRC. 

This is a meal that makes a difference and I’m inspired by the special recipes gifted by refugees that are taken from their own cultural traditions. Every dollar I raise will go to the ASRC so they can provide essential food, housing and health services to refugees and people seeking asylum.

Wonderful night for our feast

Saturday 12th Apr
We had 14 dinner guests who all brought a dish - so many countries represented. Vietnamese noodle salad, stunning green salad, rijli from Sudan, beef rendang and coconut rice from Indonesia, peri peri chicken from Southern Africa, herb and lemon couscous from Morocco, dhal from India. Had a middle eastern mezze to start with flat breads, hommus, tzatziki, labne, olives and a few antipasti like tuna tapenade and peperonata. Dessert was a passionfruit pavlova, a sour cream coconut cake with raspberries, raspberry sorbet (did not set so a sauce instead!) and a fresh fruit platter. Donations to come this week from guests.
