Art-full Living Feast

The Northern Arts Hotel supports the Art-full Living Feast for Freedom this April.

I’m making a difference fundraising for the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC).

I’m doing this by hosting a Feast for Freedom on Thursday 18 April, 12.30pm at the Northern Arts Hotel, 359 Barker Street, Castlemaine to provide people seeking asylum with access to the essential services they need to rebuild their lives in Australia.

This is a meal that makes a difference and I’m cooking recipes gifted by refugees that are taken from their own cultural traditions. Every dollar I raise will go to the ASRC so they can provide essential food, housing and health services to refugees and people seeking asylum.

I'm cooking Malaysian refugee cook Harchana's own recipes for traditional dishes such as Tauhu Sumbat with tofu, carrot, bean shoots, cucumber and sweet chilli, plus Ayam Masak Merah - a chicken sambal and Ghee Rice. To cover all tastes, I'll add a Lebonese of Falafel and Tahini sauce.

I'm suggesting the donation for the meal to be $40 or as much as you wish. Drinks will be available at bar prices at the Hotel, which is donating the hire of the venue in support of the cause.
