We care

Rural Australians for Refugees Castlemaine are working with me to make a difference fundraising for the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC).

We are doing this by hosting a Feast for Freedom to provide people seeking asylum with access to the essential services they need to rebuild their lives in Australia.

Rural Australians for Refugees Castlemaine is a group of local people committed to advancing the human rights of refugees and people who come to Australia seeking asylum. We want to see Australian government policy reflect the values of our society – fairness, respect, dignity and decency. We want human rights policy enshrined in law in order to protect the rights of people seeking asylum in this country.

This is a meal that makes a difference and we are inspired by the special recipes gifted by refugees that are taken from their own cultural traditions. Every dollar we raise will go to the ASRC so they can provide essential food, housing and health services to refugees and people seeking asylum.

Please make a donation to help us reach this goal.

Thank you.

Castlemaine Community & the Northern Arts Hotel supported our Feast

Friday 9th May
What community spirit we experienced in supporting our Feast. On top of the online donations, we raised $1800 extra on the day, including $350 from a raffle organised by Margot Ryan with generous donations from the local shops. A local artist also offered one of his works for auction - ultimate generosity - and Maggie Foote and her team worked tirelessly arranging furniture and in the kitchen. Gratitute from us to them - we are thrilled to have contributed to the campaign to make a difference.

Art-full Living and Rurals for Refugees join forces to raise funds

Monday 17th Mar
Art-full Living is grateful to Rural Australians for Refugees Castlemaine in joining forces to host its 2025 Feast for Freedom.
We are indebted to Maggie Fooke and the Northern Arts hotel for their generosity in offering their lovely venue for the Feast.
Our feast will take place there on Thursday 8 May, 12pm.
Please support this needy cause.
We are asking for $40 for our sumptuous Indian-Malaysian feast, plus any extra donation you may choose to make to help those who need it.
